Email Marketing Blast - Should You Do It?

Speaking From Experience Produces Better Trust

As an online marketer, I spent the last few years devising ways to build my email list in a number of different niches. One thing that I’ve discovered during my list building journey, is that making a profit from your list is far more sophisticated than building the list itself. And the more trust you build with them, the more money that you will be able to make. Take it like this, you can indirectly create your own “trust fund”. But I really do crack myself up at times!

Or let’s just say that you want to promote a product to your list as an affiliate. Now how do you write your emails? Do you write from your own personal experience? Do you explain how the product has personally helped you out?

Speaking from personal experience is a powerful psychological marketing tactic that will always remove the barriers of distrust. This is why you should apply this principle in all of your promotional material.

High Squeeze Page Conversion Rate - Convert That Traffic Into Leads

When designing a squeeze page or email capture page, you must make every attempt to produce solid conversion rates on the page. Improving the conversion rate of your squeeze page will make a huge difference on your bottom line and the profits that you generate for your list building campaign.

For example, let’s say that you have a poorly converting squeeze page that only converts about 7 visitors into leads out of 100 total visitors. This means that your squeeze page has a 7% conversion rate… which really isn’t that great…especially if you are sending 100 targeted visitors to the page. Now if we convert these numbers into monetary metrics by assumming that each subscriber earns us about 1 dollar per month, then for that day, we can concluded an additional earnings of $7 each and every month.

But what if we took the time to improve the conversion rate of our squeeze page? How much more income will that mean for us?

Well, if you increased the conversion of your squeeze page from 7% to 40%, then you will make a drastic improvement on the amount of income that you will potentially make with your subscribers. Instead of gaining 7 subscribers per day, you will be collecting 40 subscribers per day. And if we were going to continue with the same monetary metrics, we will increase our daily earnings from $7 a day to $40 dollars a day. The neat thing about this is that we did not have to increase traffic to our page at all. We are getting the exact same amount of traffic as we did when we were obtaining 7 subscribers a day.

So I hope you understand the power of increasing the conversion rate of your email capture page.

Let us now look at some important factors that will help us to instantly improve our conversion ratio for our squeeze page.

The first thing that you can do is make sure that your page loads pretty quickly. You web page or squeeze page should not take over 5 seconds for it to load up. If it takes longer than 5 seconds for your squeeze page to load up, then the probability of the visitor becoming a subscriber begins to gradually diminish more and more with each second that passes by. So you want to nip this in the bud by creating a page that loads very quickly.

Also, you want to make sure that you split test the various elements on your landing page. The first element that you must split test is the headline. Make sure you test multiple headlines due to the fact that the headline will likely play the most affect on whether or not a visitor will become a subscriber. After you split test the headline, then you must attempt to split test the bullet points of your squeeze page, as well as the call to action.

Another good strategy for improving your squeeze page conversions is to make sure the opt in box is somewhere above the fold. This basically means that once someone lands on your page, they should immediately see the opt in box on the page without the need to scroll down the page.

Also, if you include some eye popping graphic on the page that will cause your opt in form to stick out, you should see a decent improvement in your conversions as well. For example, a simple graphical arrow pointing to the opt in box can cause people’s attention to shift to the opt in box where they will see the call to action. This simple action will help motivate the visitor to subscribe.

Now we are also in the web 2.0 video age, so make sure you include a video on the page that will definitely motivate them to hand over their name and email address to you. The video must pull on the viewer’s emotions so that they can make an emotional response and immediately sign up to your newsletter or email list. You do not want their logic to interfere with their emotion, so make sure you create a powerful video that will take control of their emotions.
