In today’s blog post, I am going to discuss the current online advertising movements and how you should position yourself in order to reap the best benefit in 2010.
But before I get into that, I will like to thank everyone who responded to my last post via email. Your replies and comments have given me the extra motivation to continue providing as much good content as I can.
So again, thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Now as I mentioned in the last email and blog post, there is a lot of movement going on right now in the online advertising sphere. And this movement is really happening on multiple fronts, which will make 2010 an interesting year for us internet/affiliate marketers.
For example, as we mentioned in the first email, a lot of offline companies are flocking over to paid online media sources due to the continual fall in print media subscriptions like newspapers and magazines.
The newspaper industry is getting hit big time and companies are not getting the same brand exposure that they used to get when submitting a major ad to print media.
As a matter of fact, you can do a search for the term ‘newspapers’ in google trends and you will see a gradual decline in demand for newspapers over the past few years.
Since the demand for newspapers is steadily falling, their market reach is not as great as it used to be. In other words, the number of eyeballs looking at newspapers and magazine ads are falling every month.
In order for these companies to keep their brand in front of their target audience, they are venturing into paid forms of online media advertising.
Which is a good move, because if you analyze the keyword trend for the term ‘online media’ in google trends, you will see that the demand has been gradually increasing for the past two years.
Companies hire market research teams to analyze this type of market data. And right now, there is a very obvious shift taking place.
So what you are seeing now, and what you will see more of in the years to come, is a media buying shift where a large majority of companies will focus more of their revenue on internet advertising.
Which is going to toughen the landscape for most of us affiliate marketers.
Why?
Well, I am about to explain why in a little bit.
But let’s move on to our second situation.
As many of us heard by now, Google recently banned 10,000’s of adwords advertisers for life with no real explanation of why they were banned.
Because of this recent banning, many advertisers who putall of their traffic eggs into Google’s basket are panicking right now because their entire revenue was based on the traffic that they purchased via Google adwords.
And if you study market movements, there are two types of emotions that can completely change the direction of any market or industry.
These two emotions are:
1. Fear(Panic)
2. Greed
Right now, many adwords advertisers are in panic mode. And some even fear losing their entire business right now.
And because of them being kicked out of Google
…and because of them fearing the loss of their business…
These very same advertisers are going to start flooding the alternative traffic sources like crazy.
Now for those who may not know, let me list some of these alternative traffic strategies so that you can understand what I am talking about.
Alternative Traffic Models:
============================
1. PPV
2. In-Line Text Advertising
3. Pop Ups/Pop Unders
4. Media Buys
5. Social Media
6. MSN Adcenter
7. Yahoo Search/AdReady
8. Other 2nd Tier PPC Search Engines
The list above represent some of the more popular forms of paid online traffic.
But as we mentioned, we are about to see the next ‘Gold Rush’. Tens of thousands of advertisers who were spending fortunes on adwords, are now migrating over to these other traffic sources.
And they are moving over at rapid speed!
Now let us put on our business and economics hat for a little bit.
The paid online media landscape, in a nutshell, is a marketplace where we as advertisers compete for as much high quality traffic as we can get.
Because it is a marketplace, we have to look at everything from a market’s perspective.
Now since this is a marketplace, we have to understand the principles of competition and supply and demand.
If we continue to have an ongoing rush of businesses and advertisers towards a particular traffic source, it is going to create intense competition in the marketplace, thus causing the cost of advertising to go up.
Why is it going to go up?
Well, just think about it. Most of these companies, as well as banned adwords users, are eager and desperate for quality traffic. The demand for traffic is extremely high right now.
Now there is something that is called the Supply and Demand relationship. Whenever the demand for a product is high, and the supply(quantity) of that same product doesn’t change, it is going to cause the price of the product to rise.
In our case, the product that we all want is traffic. And the overall majority of advertising networks have a LIMITED supply of TARGETED traffic that they can send you.
For example, you can go to many of the popular ad networks websites, and see how many impressions they are commanding a day.
Resource 1: Adbrite => 214 million impressions per day on 113,478 sites
Resource 2: Media Traffic(PPV) => 15+ million users
I decided to list the two resources above to reveal to you that there is a limit to the amount of traffic that is available from most ad networks.
And if you consider targeted traffic, the number of impressions and possible visitors drops down significantly for each of these ad networks
So we are NOT dealing with an infinite supply of traffic like some marketers will have you believe.
And since the demand for these forms of traffic is always increasing, eventually the price to compete for this very same traffic will go up as well.
And to be truthful, I have already seen the affects of increased market competition and demand with PPV advertising.
I have been familiar with PPV advertising for well over a year and a half and just this year, I’ve noticed huge changes in the bidding price of certain campaigns. For certain campaigns, I can not buy PPV traffic as cheap as I use to due to the flood of new advertisers coming into the network.
And when this happens, it can really tear into your profits.

The Good News And Bad News
===========================
Now there is good news and bad news to all of this.
Let’s begin with the good news.
Now if you were not banned from adwords, then you should rejoice a little. Because of the recent bannings, many advertisers who were not even banned from Google decided to leave Google altogether.
They are sick and tired of the Google shenanigans.
So we are seeing a massive exodus from Google now.
This exodus does nothing but free up the marketplace for those advertisers who were not banned yet.
(Noticed I said yet..because you never know with Google..lol)
So for the next few months, we should be searching for opportunities to get dirt cheap traffic from Google. A lot of marketers have left the Google marketplace. So it’s time to spot the non-competitive segments of this marketplace and milk it for all it’s worth until Google tells you to stop.
Or….
You can take the more conservative approach to discover why most of these accounts were permanently banned from Google. Then, rework your business model so that you comply with all the policies and requirements Google may layout so that your account doesn’t get suspended or banned.
Whatever you choose to do, the key is to be patient.
Don’t give up on Google yet.
With so many advertisers banned, and so many leaving adwords by choice, there will probably be plenty of
opportunities for you to come in and make some great money from adwords.
So continue to play with Google, while experimenting with other sources of paid traffic at the same time.
Which now leads me to the bad news.
The competition is about to get extremely intense with other advertising forms like PPV and media buying.
So in order to really exploit this traffic to the fullest, you have to really think outside the box and do intense market brainstorming and research in order to get in front of the right audience.
For example, promoting a set of golf clubs on a travel/vacation website because you know that a good number of people who travel love to play golf as well. This can go vice versa. You can promote a travel resort on a golf site.
But the key to being successful is to really understand your audience and study it like crazy!
That way, you’ll be able to get in front of viewers that your competition wouldn’t even consider getting in front of.
I am going to create a short video for you on what I call the traffic pyramid within the next few days. It will give you a much better understanding of this whole frame of thinking.
——————
Cont…..
Also, it will require better marketing on your part in order to succeed with these other traffic sources. You will need to have very unique creatives (ads) in order for your message to stick out.
Your marketing will have to carry some uniqueness and flavor. It can’t be ordinary and bland!
But what this whole migration will do is help us all step up our game as affiliate marketers.
The same thing happened with Google adwords a few years ago. In the very beginnings of google adwords, it was easy to make tons of commissions from different ads via direct linking. Those were the good ole days of adwords marketing!
But because of the massive influx of advertisers into adwords, it changed the marketplace, causing many of us to step our game up when it came to selling products and services.
So you should never really look at competition as a bad thing. Competition is designed to make us all better. It is there so that we can all improve on our area of specialty.
And in the end, we will all be much better marketers.
So that is all I am going to write for now. I have plenty of more stuff I am going to share with you concerning this topic in the weeks to come.

I know for sure that this game of affiliate marketing is getting more interesting each day. For those who do not know, there is a great way for you to lower your advertising expenses, increase your ROI, and drive more conversion all at the same time on Google. Now how is this done?
Well, it’s done through the Google Conversion Optimizer, which is an adwords bidding feature that allows you to bid on CPA (cost per action), rather than CPC (cost per click). The great thing about this feature, is that it makes managing adwords campaigns easier and simpler, since you are only working on a cost per action level. So there is no need to micro manage your campaigns and constantly do bid tweaks every hour. The great thing about the Google Conversion Optimizer is that it has a multi dimensional bidding feature that intelligently optimizes your campaigns for you, driving the most sales and conversions at the best cost. To understand this powerful tool that has made Google the biggest and best affiliate ever, look at the video below.
So I hope you see the power of using this incredible bidding option for your google adwords campaigns. In order to utilize this resource, make sure you generate at least 30 conversions in 30 days. This is needed in order to help google estimate a proper cost per action for you. But there is so much opportunity here that I am visualizing how much profits can be earned for my own internet business. Just imagine using it for CPA campaigns that you run as an affiliate. The possibilities for amazing profits are almost endless if you know how to use it correctly.

If you are looking at the title of this post, then you know that I am about to talk about the msn online commercial intent tool. For those who may not know, commercial intent is when you estimate the probability of a visitor making a commercial purchase or action. In other words, what keywords or queries do a searcher search under if he or she is intending on buying an item.
Just having a tool like this is pretty awesome because it can add to the amount of buyer keyword phrases that you isolate for your ppc marketing campaigns. But the neat thing about this knowledge is that we do not have to limit this msn commercial intent tool to just google adwords advertising or msn adcenter. We can also take this data from this tool, and use it to select keywords that we will like to naturally rank for in the search engines so that we can get free targeted buyer traffic. I’ve done this a few times with some of my SEO projects, and to be honest with you, it works better than you can ever imagine. But to understand this incredible tool, please take a look at the video below.
Just from using that particular adcenter tool, you can drastically improve the results of your online marketing endeavors by targeting the right keyword phrases. Remember this, in online marketing, targeting buyer keyword phrases are of the utmost importance because it is these phrases that produce the money and profits for your business.

Did you know that you can get more responsive traffic from the msn pay per click search engine than google adwords? Well, if you haven’t tested and compared Google Adwords traffic with MSN Adcenter traffic, then you need to do so asap because there is an obvious difference between the two.
In the video below, you will discover why MSN’s traffic is of a much higher quality (IMO) than google’s traffic. Also, you will learn why you can take advantage of the MSN pay per click service to really pour thousands of clicks per day to your website for dirt cheap. So watch the video below, and learn some good tips and strategies that you can apply to your ppc marketing business that will give you an immediate edge over everyone else who is promoting solely with google adwords.
Now just think about it? If you can locate all of your buyer terms from your adwords campaigns, and then upload those very same ads and keywords into your msn pay per click adcenter campaign, then you should be able to see a better conversion rate on those keywords in MSN. But that is just one benefit of the MSN pay per click search engine. If you really think outside the box, you can exploit MSN’s loophole and get a ton of traffic via lateral buyer keyword phrases that are indirectly related to your offer. This topic goes way beyond anything that I can mention in a single post. But if you want to learn something like that, then learn from the PPC Master himself and apply his pay per click formula.
If you want some step by step videos that will explain how you can generate an enormous amount of traffic to your business, then watch 2+ hours of FREE Traffic Generation Videos that will show you in how to set up your own targeted traffic machine.

I get emails all the time from marketers stating that they suck at google adwords. Their reason is due to the lack of conversions or sales that they are generating at so high a cost per click. This can indeed be a serious problem….especially if you are paying over $1 per click. Spending that type of money makes it almost impossible to see sure fire internet profits in your business.
That is why, when setting up your google adwords campaign, you need to focus on direct response elements of your sales process so that you can generate an optimal number of sales. Do not throw aside copywriting tactics when setting up adwords campaigns. To be truthful, copywriting skill and adwords go hand in hand. This is why I decided to release this video that will share with you a simple, easy to implement, tactic that you can use in order to increase the conversion rate of your landing page when you are promoting on Google Adwords. Just improving your landing page conversion will significantly increase how much money you make for your campaigns. Watch the video below and see exactly what I am talking about.
So as you can see from the short explanation in the video, just making that one simple addition to your landing page can result in major profits for your business. What you must always consider, when buying traffic, is the psychological state of the visitor. In order to connect with them instantly, you need to add that component to your landing page in order to increase your conversions.

I decided to create this quick video in order to give you some good advice on banner ads and how to advertise with them. What most people do not understand, is that there are a lot more diverse traffic sources than ppc, that you can pull from in order to see a consistent flowing stream of high quality visitors to your website. PPC is not the all in all of online marketing. You can build a very successful internet based business while not using ppc at all.
And what you will eventually find out, is that banner advertising can yield you a much lower cost per click than pay per click advertising. To understand this further, I created a short video describing three steps to setting up a good banner ad campaign. There is a lot of highway noise in the background of this video, but you should still be able to get the valuable info from this video and thus increase your ROI in no time.
So what do you think about banner advertising now? Are you going to follow the steps and test this strategy out in order to buy cheap traffic? Well, you need to hurry up and do this before the masses start figuring this banner advertising stuff out.

One skill that is often times neglected by every marketer that I know involves writing good ads. People fail to realize that the only way for you to make any decent money is to improve your ability to sell by writing nice, persuasive ads. If you are advertising on craigslist, or some site that allows you to post text ads, then you need to generate an ad that will create a high click through so that the visitor that views your ad can actually go and visit your website.
This is especially important when we are trying to advertise on google adwords. Having a high ctr ad will not only help us lower our bid cost, but at the same time improve our ad position, thus helping us generate more targeted clicks. This is why the most important skill that you can learn as a ppc marketer or adwords advertiser, is the skill of writing powerful direct response ads that are so good that the person viewing the ad will have no choice but to click on the ad. Sorry for the big run on sentence, but I hope you guys get my point.
So many people emphasize keyword research and ad relevancy when it comes to adwords. It is indeed important to also emphasize these as well. But what makes most marketers hate adwords, is their inability to create enough cheap clicks.
I do not care how many keywords you have! You can have 100,000 keywords for your product for all I care. But you will not be able to generate significant traffic and revenue if you do not possess the key that holds everything together, which is the key of writing compelling ads.
Now, you may think that it takes years of study and research to know how to write an outstanding ad. Let me dispel all the myths and tell you that it doesn’t take a phd in advertising to know how to write excellent copy. All you need to do is a few things. Let me show you:
1. Look at your competitors ads and try to get ideas from the best ones
2. Apply the AIDA principle to your ads(Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)
3. Make sure your ad has a USP(Unique Selling Proposition)
In other words, just look at what your competitors are doing and get ideas from them. Once you do that, determine something totally unique about your offer that makes your offer stick out from the rest of the ads marketing on adwords or any website. You really need to think about the one thing that most of the ads you are competing with are not talking about. Once you determine that one thing that will make your ad stick out from the rest, then compile the best elements of all the various ads, with your unique selling proposition, and watch your click through rate soar through the roof. Here is the equation for you:
Best Ad Elements + Unique Selling Proposition = Very High Click Through Rate
So that is really all it takes to create a nice ad. Just take your time researching the other ads you’re competing with, then add your own unique twist to it, and watch the clicks come.
If you need more help on generating an enormous amount of targeted traffic to your website, then I highly recommend for you to watch 2+ hours of FREE Traffic Building Videos that will show you how to send a nice stampede of high quality traffic to your website.
