I Need To Get This Off My Chest
As mentioned in my last email, the purpose of this email is to give you some of my thoughts concerning affiliate marketing, the IM industry, and what you should be doing now in order to see some consistent business growth.
Right now, we are navigating through a dreary wilderness when it comes to affiliate marketing and adwords. I have so much to say about this, and I will definitely get to it in part 2 of this message.
But there are quite a number of things that I need to get off of my chest first before I go into all of the affiliate marketing stuff.
Now what I am about to say may upset alot of marketers in the IM space. But it is the truth…and the truth needs to be told.
What I am about to say is not a direct attack against any “Guru” marketer. I truly respect a good number of these marketers and I’ve learned quite a bit from some of them.
But as I addressed before in a previous email, most of these marketers have fallen into sin…the sin of harlotry.
…Product Harlotry…
Every single day, I am receiving pitch after pitch of various products that are really just rehashes of information that is available for free online.
As a matter of fact, a lot of the info contained in these IM products is not as good as the info you can freely grab from a number of blogs out there.
Check this out….
My great successes online was not due to me applying info that I received from the products that I bought.
My biggest achievements as an affiliate marketer came from me applying information that I freely received from reputable super affiliate blogs and forums.
This should tell you that you DO NOT need to buy a single IM product in order to be successful.
Did you hear that?
You really do not have to buy any products online and still have the capability of making ALOT of money as an internet/affiliate marketer.
And when I say a lot of money….I mean ALOT!
I actually heard of someone who never bought one single IM product, but generated over 1 million dollars in revenue as an affiliate during the first half of 2009.
All this person did was just apply the tips and strategies that he learned from various blogs and forums(NOT Warriors), and he is now doing extremely well.
But the key thing to note is that he did not buy one single IM product, and he makes more money now then a majority of the IM Gurus!
Now the reason why I decided to write about this is because I heard alot of complaints from my subscribers.
A lot of my subscribers have been complaining about the current trend that is taking place with marketers pitching new products almost everyday.
I actually talk on the phone with some of my subscribers and some of them confessed to me that they’ve spent $10,000’s this year on IM products.
This is not good…especially if you haven’t generated $1 dollar in profit online.
And what makes it so bad, is that your “Guru Marketers” are killing the responsiveness of the market when they choose to only send out product pitches.
Right now, alot of subscribers do not even open
up emails during major product launches. They
assume that the recent flood of emails to
their inbox is likely a pitch for the same
product.
So they avoid the burden of reading all of their
emails by just deleting most of them.
This is why many marketers are considering
this the worst launch climate ever…it is
because they aren’t receiving huge responses
from their email promos.
So what happens?
As a result, many of your marketers need to
push products like crazy in order to make
payroll, and even pay off their mortgage.
But what most of them do not realize, is that
they are the blame for this! They sucked the
life out of the IM market by not providing
the help and value that most of their subscribers
are desperate for.
And as a result, both parties are affected, the
guru and the subscriber. The guru isn’t making
enough money from his product endorsements, and
the subscriber ends up pouring tons of money
down the drain before they end up saying enough
is enough.
—————
So if you have fell into this product buying
trap, then what should you do?
Well, for one, DO NOT buy another product.
Heck, most of the content from these products
are freely available online…so you won’t
miss much anyways if you don’t buy it.
If you have to unsubscribe from a few lists,
then by all means do so.
If your self control is weak when it comes to
buying products, then do yourself a favor and
click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom
of those product pitch emails.
But please use discretion because even some
of the most helpful affiliate marketers endorse
a product every once in awhile.
The key thing you need to ask yourself is….
“Am I getting any value from being subscribed
to this list?”
“Do I get helpful tips and videos from time
to time?”
“Does the list owner have a genuine concern
to help me, or are they always trying to get
into my pocket?”
Ask yourself these questions before unsubscribing
from a list.
Doing this exercise will help you weed out the
distractions, while at the same time clear up
your email inbox.
You won’t get as many emails and because of this,
you will improve your productivity, which is a
core value when it comes to building up your
internet business.
The Core Value of Productivity
==============================
The more productive you are, the more momentum
that you will have.
We have so many distractions in our daily life
that are momentum killers.
In this social media age, you have facebook,
twitter and a number of web 2.0 tools that can
actually destroy your productivity and kill your
momentum.
Here are some momentum killers that you need to
get under control ASAP:
1. Email
Question: What if the post office delivered mail
the way most of us check email?
(I found a blog post that I want to send to you
that talks about this.)
2. Facebook
Facebook has become one of the leading distractions
now based on a number of polls and surveys.
3. Twitter
4. Forums
Of course, there are some forums that you NEED to get
involved in if you are an affiliate marketer. But most
of them are huge momentum killers.
So start ridding yourself of these momentum killers now.
Don’t let these distractions kill your goals and dreams.
Rule over them…don’t let them rule over you!
I have seen so many marketers give up due to being
distracted and not staying focus. And it really does
sadden me because I see so much opportunity in this
affiliate business, yet so few people realize it.
But focus more of your time on high priority tasks.
For you that will mean any task that can help you put more
money in your bank account. That can be:
A. Building more traffic
B. Buying and testing more traffic sources
C. Tweaking your landing page/improving conversions
D. Creating your own product
E. Contacting JV partners
F. Building up your affiliate program
…the list can go on and on.
The key is to focus most of your time and energy on
tasks that bring good ROI.
I can’t get into this right now. Maybe I can in another
email or blog post.
But once you discipline yourself to stay focus and
become more productive, your business can definitely
see a nice level of growth within 3 to 6 months.

Online Advertising: The Future of It
Right now, there is a lot of movement going on in the
online advertisement sphere. There is so much movement
going on that you can actually foretell what may
happen in 2010 when it comes to online advertising.
With the fall in newspaper sales, more and more offline
businesses and companies are venturing into advertising
online. And a lot of them have the budget to really buy
a ton of traffic online…in other words, millions of
visitors a month.
So with the migration of a lot of companies toward
online media sources, I believe that you are about
to see quite a number of changes take place within
the media buying and traffic buying landscape.
For example, many of us have heard of the recent banning
of Google adwords accounts that occured about 10 days ago.
Accounts across google have been banned for life with
no legitimate reason but the same excuse of poor landing
pages and low quality scores.
But based on this recent happening, can you guys predict
what is about to happen?
Well, it’s going to be like the next gold rush! Many
of these advertisers that were banned from Google
are going to rush and flood towards alternative traffic
sources.
This can be a good and bad thing for you. But if you
understand certain economic principles like supply and
demand, it can be a great thing for you.
In tomorrow’s email, I will explain all of this in more
detail.
Just look out for my email.
Subject:
The Next Big “Traffic” Rush - 2010 and Beyond
In that email, I will describe in more detail what is
about to take place and how you can use this info to
take advantage of the movements in the online advertising
industry.
Again, look out for that next email.
I am confident that you will receive some great advice
from it.

After years at watching the web and trying to decide if I want to get involved with an online venture I finally see someone who is not afraid to speak the truth.
The gurus are coming out with products faster than any brick manufacturing firm anywhere. Each product is going to be “the one” but next month they will promote another “the one”
Melvin’s blog is one I will subscribe to.
