Intergration Marketing For Funneling Customers

Integration Marketing is a technique whereby you can cross-sell or promote your business within the arena of an entirely separate business entity.  For example, if you purchase a new car, when all of the paperwork is about to be signed and the sale is finalized, the dealer may offer you a range of options that might include product offerings from premium wheel manufacturers or car audio dealers to be included in your new vehicle.  Similarly, these concepts are applicable online as well by partnering with other content providers whose focus lines up with yours from a customer standpoint.  Below, we’ll look at an example outlining the potential advantages of utilizing integration marketing in your campaign.

Initially, if you’re looking to apply integration marketing to your campaign, seek out other websites or providers who have a similar customer base as your own.  Much like the buying a new car example, if you provided a web hosting solution, you might try to persuade online domain registrars to place a link to your site in their order confirmation email or a thank you page after their customers have ordered. In turn, you could provide a link back to the registrar in your own order confirmation page, creating a circular relationship whereby customers are funneled from one provider to another and both parties can capitalize on the effort.

Also, integration marketing can retain customers that are brought to your site through other businesses by combining this strategy with methods such as email list building.  For example, if you know a customer was directed to your page through a link on a partner’s site, you might have a customized page that speaks to the user about their recent purchase with them and explain that by signing up on your email list they can take advantage of an exclusive offer.  This could even be taken a step further if that visitor not only subscribes, but takes advantage of a ’send this to a friend’ link on that particular page. With this type of mechanism in place, you will be able to setup a viral list building machine that will continue to pile subscribers into your database.

As you can see, while integration marketing may not be a new development, but that shouldn’t diminish its power as a marketing tool, especially when combined with other proven strategies in online promotion.
